Autograph letter signed, dated : Zeléz Sept. 21 1824, to Franz v. Schober in Breslau, 1824 Sept. 21.

Saying that Swind [i.e., Moritz von Schwind] writes that Schober is not happy "and must sleep off the frenzies of your despair," wishing he, Schwind, and Kuppel [i.e., Leopold Kupelwieser] were together, quoting from Goethe's "Erster Verlust:" "Wer bringt nur eine Stunde jener holden Zeit zurück--!" [set by Schubert in 1815, D. 226], complaining that, alone in the Hungarian countryside, he has no one with whom to speak a sensible word, saying he has written hardly any songs, wondering what will happen to his operas, writing out a four-stanza poem entitled "Klage an das Volk," mentioning Leidesdorf, etc.
